Our Process

Drapes to Duvets provides a full-service experience that includes design, fabrication and installation. Lisa will expertly guide you through your project design, fabric and hardware selection, and professional installation.

Below is Drapes to Duvets’ process from contact to installation. Custom design and fabrication of window treatments is an investment of time and money. Drapes to Duvets makes every effort to work within your budget and time frame. It is important to note that this process, from Step 1 to completion, typically takes 8-12 weeks.

Step 1: Contact

Call or email Lisa to discuss your project.  In most cases, an initial on-site consultation is necessary for Lisa to see your space, discuss window treatment design possibilities and take measurements.  Before your appointment, Lisa may ask you to email/text photos of your space to assess your style and color scheme. The initial consultation fee is $150 payable at the time of consult; this includes up to two hours of time. Any additional time will be billed at $100/hr to the quarter hour. If you book your project within 60 days of receiving the quote, $75 of the initial consultation fee will be credited back on your final invoice.

Step 2: Initial Consultation

The initial consultation will take place in your space. Please allow 1.5 to 2 hours for this meeting. During this appointment, Lisa will take photos and measurements, and you will both discuss design, fabric, and hardware options. Already have fabric ideas you love? Please share these with Lisa at your consultation. Lisa will also bring fabric and hardware samples from the vendors Drapes to Duvets knows and trusts.   There is no requirement or obligation to use these vendors.

Additional on-site or design/shopping appointments after the initial consultation will be billed at an hourly rate of $100 (billed to the quarter hour).

Step 3: Quote

One to two weeks after your appointment, Lisa will provide you with a comprehensive quote detailing and itemizing the costs of each project as well as an estimated date of completion.  To book your project, a signed copy of your quote and a deposit of your materials cost is required. Once received, your materials will be ordered and your project will be put in the Drapes to Duvets queue for fabrication.

Drapes to Duvets accepts payment by cash, check or Venmo.

Step 5: Delivery and Installation

This is the final step! If your project requires installation, a professional drapery installer will perform the task. Your final balance is due at the time of delivery/installation.
